Lismore CC completed one of the most successful Smash It camps ever held in Munster last week at the idyllic ground on the outskirts of the West Waterford Town. Over 20 children participated in the 8 week programme, which introduced both boys and girls aged 5-9 to cricket is a safe, fun and inclusive way through a modular series of sessions.Cricket Ireland were also in attendance, with Liam Foulkes and the Media team there to support and help showcase the efforts of the club. As National Game Development Manager, Liam is very keen to see the rollout of Smash It and It’s Wicket across the Munster Cricket Union.

” To see so many boys and girls giving cricket a go at a small rural club is outstanding. Dan and his team have done a fantastic job at engaging the community and bringing together a group of new cricketers. They have been well supported by both Glenn and Rory who have attended sessions and helped in anyway possible. Well done to everyone on their hard work and we can’t wait to have Lismore CC involved again next Season! ” said Liam.

2021 Registrations Open

The plan released from Cricket Ireland indicates that under-18s can start training in pods of up to 15 people from 26 April 2021. While it is hoped that adults can return to training in May, we are still awaiting the exact timing of this, which is subject to further Government guidance.

However, the MCU expects to be able to operate a full league season, starting in June or July, following similar covid measures as set out last year.

While we await government and MCU guidance on exactly when we can return to train and play, we are opening the membership applications up. This is vital for the club, as with COVID restrictions activity & maintenance around the club has been non existent. However costs of running the club still remain, with spending on insurance, grounds maintenance and upgrading the club house a priority. We expect to be able to return to get the pitch & cubhouse in order in the coming weeks, so we thank all members who have paid memberships already, and encourage all other members to support the club in the lead up to the coming season.

The club fees for 2021 and bank details are on our membership page

To complete your membership you’ll have to do three things.

  1. Complete the online registration form –or– download and fill in the form from here and submit to the secretary
  2. Submit your fee via bank transfer (see account details) –or– pay online here
  3. Complete the MCU registrations here

The main reason why these protocols are in place is to keep us all safe, minimise risk of infection and enable contact tracing to work if someone has fallen ill. So here’s what you need to know:
